There was a third member of House 3 all along
For weeks, The Block viewers watched Lisa and Rosco battle deadlines, budgets and judging pressure without knowing that the couple had been carrying a life-changing secret through the entire competition.
Now, that secret has finally been revealed.
Lisa and Rosco are expecting their second child, a baby boy who will become a younger brother to their two-year-old son, Lando. The couple revealed the gender during Wednesday night’s episode, turning one of the season’s most personal Block storylines into an emotional family milestone.
And the timing could hardly be more extraordinary.
Their baby is due in mid-October, just before The Block auction and finale — meaning their second child has spent almost the entire competition quietly along for the ride.
The pregnancy was never part of the plan
Lisa, 34, and Rosco, 38, had arrived in Victoria ready to take on one of the biggest challenges of their lives.
Pregnancy was not on the agenda.
A few weeks before filming began in Mount Eliza, Lisa noticed she was becoming unusually carsick.
She assumed it was nerves about relocating across the country and leaving Lando with family for the first time.
“Pregnancy didn’t cross my mind,” Lisa told New Idea. She briefly wondered whether she could be pregnant, then put the thought aside.
It was only after a stomach bug swept through the Block sharehouse that the possibility resurfaced.
Lisa went to see a doctor, who asked her whether there was any chance she might be pregnant.
She took a test.
She was around seven weeks pregnant.
And the first person she told was not Rosco
Perhaps the most surprising detail from the entire story came next.
Lisa did not immediately tell her husband and Block teammate.
Instead, Scott Cam was the first person on site she told.
Lisa recalled walking up to the Block host and joking:
“Hey Scotty, guess what? I’m eating for two!”
Scott, who later recalled the moment himself, initially did not understand what she meant.
Then Lisa told him she was pregnant.
According to Scott, she told him she had not yet told anyone else.
It was an extraordinary secret to be carrying in a competition where almost every emotion eventually finds its way in front of the cameras.

They wondered whether they could stay on The Block
The discovery immediately raised a much bigger question.
Could Lisa and Rosco actually continue?
They were weeks into an exhausting renovation competition, living away from home and raising a young child from across the country.
But production was supportive once they were told, and Lisa remained determined to stay.
That decision turned out to be deeply personal.
Lando was back in Western Australia, and Lisa later admitted that being pregnant while separated from her little boy made her miss him even more. At one point, she described the feeling as being only “75 per cent here” because a huge part of her family was still at home.

The baby became their hidden motivation
Rather than changing the couple’s approach to the competition, the pregnancy gave them another reason to keep going.
Lisa said the baby helped ease some of her homesickness because she felt she was not completely alone.
“I’ve got one of my kids with me,” she said.
For Rosco, the discovery made their experience feel even more meaningful.
The couple have said they entered The Block partly to challenge themselves, but also to create something for their children and build a future for their family.
Suddenly, every room they built carried another kind of significance.
They were not just renovating a house.
They were trying to create something for a family that was quietly getting bigger.
From a secret to a baby boy
When filming eventually wrapped, Lisa was around 20 weeks pregnant.
And the reality of the pregnancy seemed to arrive all at once.
“We left at 20 or so weeks pregnant… and I was very pregnant all of a sudden!” she said.
Rosco joked that when Lisa stepped off the plane after The Block, the pregnancy suddenly became impossible to ignore.
The couple had spent months focused on rooms, trades and deadlines.
Now they were back home preparing for a new baby.
Meet “Wombat”
The couple have already given their unborn son an affectionate nickname.
For now, he is “Wombat.”
But they have not yet settled on his real name.
Instead, they have joked about one particularly Block-appropriate possibility.
If Lisa and Rosco win the auction, they say they would happily name their son “Scotty” after host Scott Cam.
It is clearly a joke for now — but after Scott became the first person on The Block to learn Lisa was pregnant, the name carries an amusing little piece of the show’s history.
Two boys, one new family chapter
Lisa says the couple are now looking forward to raising two boys together.
They are also building a new family home on the outskirts of Perth, imagining a life where their two sons can grow up with plenty of space and freedom.
“Knowing there’s going to be two boys, it’s like we’ve got our little tribe,” Lisa said.
Their dog Sampson has also been part of the family’s preparations, while Lando is getting ready for the biggest new role of his young life: becoming a big brother.
And for Lisa, there is something strangely fitting about becoming a mother again at the same time as experiencing such an intense chapter on television.
The pregnancy that changed the way they saw The Block
Lisa and Rosco have admitted that their second pregnancy was almost an afterthought compared with their experience the first time around.
With Lando, they were completely focused on preparing for their baby.
This time, they were renovating a house under enormous pressure while quietly carrying their second child.
“It was just like, ‘Oh, we’re pregnant, OK cool, what room are we doing this week?’” Lisa joked.
Rosco similarly admitted they did not think about the baby as much as they might have liked because they were so consumed by the renovation.
But Lisa has no regrets.
She says she had a job to do on The Block, and as long as their baby was healthy and safe, she knew the rest could wait.
Now, the waiting is almost over.
The newest Blockhead is nearly here
Lisa and Rosco arrived in Mount Eliza as a team of two.
They left with a story that had quietly become much bigger than the competition.
Their baby boy was there for the deadlines, the sleepless nights, the judging and every impossible renovation decision — even though the other contestants had no idea at first.
Now the secret is out.
The little boy affectionately known as Wombat is due in mid-October, just before The Block reaches its final auction chapter.
And after everything this family has already built, the biggest arrival of the season may have nothing to do with a house at all.
