Fans hoped they’d be still together.
In a random turn of events, the Married At First Sight experts paired Rhi Disljenkovic with former flame Jeff Gobbels, but sadly it wasn’t meant to be.
While the match was made without awareness of their former relationship, it’s clear when the couple met again at the altar that they were open to rekindling their past relationship.
Much to the delight of fans across the country, the embers of love soon emerged between the two, and they ultimately decided to stay together after Final Vows.
Sadly, they couldn’t make it work more than one year on.

Are Rhi and Jeff from MAFS still together?
Rhi and Jeff are no longer together.
After months of rumours, the couple separately confirmed the news of their split via their Instagram stories with individual statements.
“With a heavy heart, I want to share that Jeff and I have decided to part ways,” Rhi confirmed on June 2. “This has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. I’m incredibly grateful for the love we shared and all of the memories we created.
She then thanked fans who followed their journey and supported their relationship.
“Your kindness means more than you know, and I appreciate your respect and understanding as we move forward.”
Jeff also said it was “incredibly difficult” to share.
“After a lot of thought, unfortunately, my relationship has ended,” he revealed.
“This has been an incredibly difficult time and I’m trying to navigate this as best as I can.
“I’m grateful for all of the memories and genuine love we shared over the years.”
He also thanked people for their support and respecting his privacy in wake of the news.

What happened with Jeff and Rhi before they announced their split?
After the show aired in 2025, they revealed that they took the next step in their relationship and moved in together.
While they lived together before they were matched, and then were under the same roof during filming, they then moved in together in Melbourne.
Speaking to our sister publication Woman’s Day a couple of months after they moved in together, they said it was bliss at the time.
“It’s been so easy,” Jeff said. “I mean, if we can get through MAFS in those tiny apartments, getting filmed every day, it’s going to be easy.”
Their home in Caulfield North even had a large kitchen, which was perfect for Jeff, who started his cooking channel on YouTube.
“It’s been great, I don’t have to cook,” Rhi said at the time.
Speaking to 9Entertainment when they first moved in, Rhi said it “cemented” their relationship.
“It was just really cool being able to pick out the stuff you want for your own apartment and really build a home together,” Jeff added. “We moved into a new place that neither of us had lived in before, so it was starting fresh. I think we probably undervalue how important that moment was, how big that moment was for our relationship.”
At the time, they said they were yet to have their first argument as a couple and enjoyed travelling together.

When they spoke about next steps
The couple also spoke about starting a family prior to their separation.
“It’s definitely something that we want to do in the future, but for now, our main focus is just enjoying each other’s company,” Rhi said to Woman’s Day.
“I feel like we’ve held off this long. I’m 35, and Jeff’s 40. We want to enjoy our relationship for what it is and just work on that for at least a year or so. We’re still in the honeymoon phase.”
Following their time on the reality show, they also said they were in no rush to walk down the aisle again.
“Everyone goes at their own pace, and I guess if that’s what they’re up to in their relationship, then good on them,” Rhi told Woman’s Day about Jacqui and Clint’s whirlwind engagement in April 2025. Jacqui and Clint have since tied the knot.
“I guess each to their own, you know?”

Their journey on MAFS
During the 2025 season, fans were not surprised that they agreed to stay together.
“I haven’t been this happy for a long time,” a besotted Jeff admitted in an on-camera confessional before putting his heart on the line to Rhi.
“I can say with my whole heart that I’m thankful we gave ourselves to this experiment. This has hands down been one of the most challenging experiences of my life, but with high risk comes high reward…and the reward for it all is you, Rhi.
“I can confidently say, Rhi, I am falling in love with you. Rhi, you’re it for me. I choose you and I hope this is forever,” he said to his visibly emotional ‘wife’.
For Rhi, her feelings were equally strong, with the brunette beauty telling producers before she read her own Final Vows to Jeff that she felt like their second chance together was “meant to be.”
“I can confidently say you are worth every day, every week, every month it takes to discover our happily ever after,” she shared with him, a smile on her face.
“You tick every single box. You are consistent, generous, and kind. Life with you is just lighter, and I’m so lucky to be able to hang out with my best friend every day.

“Jeff, I have never been in love before, but there’s something different here. Right now, I can say I’m falling in love with you,” she concluded.
A month later at the reunion, the pair were stronger than ever, with Jeff confirming that they’d only spent “one or two days apart since leaving the experiment.”
“All the things we loved doing in the experiment translated beautifully into the real world,” she shared.
Rhi chimed in, revealing, “Jeff just makes me calm all the time. That’s why it has been so easy outside the experiment and in as well.”
In front of the experts, the besotted couple then said those three little words to each other for the first time, much to the delight of their fellow brides and grooms.
