Viewers have watched tension build between Courtney and Sev and their neighbours Lisa and Rosco on The Block 2026. But Courtney has now revealed there was another side to the story — a close friendship with Rosco that she says was barely shown on screen.

For much of The Block 2026, Courtney and Sev’s relationship with Lisa and Rosco has appeared complicated.
There have been disagreements, questions over judging results and moments of tension between the neighbouring teams. At times, viewers could easily have assumed there was little warmth between the two houses.
But according to Courtney, that picture did not tell the whole story.
Away from the arguments and competition, she and Rosco had quietly formed one of the season’s more unexpected friendships.
Courtney told Chattr that she and Rosco became extremely close during filming, describing the pair simply as “inseparable.”
Courtney and Rosco regularly turned to each other
The friendship apparently went well beyond occasional conversations around the building site.
Courtney said she and Rosco would call one another, share trades and step in to help when the other house needed support. They also relied on each other for practical advice — and for a laugh when the pressure of The Block became overwhelming.
Sev has also spoken positively about their bond, describing it as a genuine friendship that developed behind the scenes.
It is a striking contrast to some of the tension audiences have watched unfold between the teams.
Their similarities may explain both the friendship — and the clashes
Rosco’s wife Lisa has previously offered another explanation for the unusual dynamic.
Speaking to WHO, she said Courtney and Rosco had developed something resembling a “brother-sister relationship”, adding that the pair were essentially male and female versions of one another.
Both have strong personalities, are highly competitive and are willing to speak their minds — qualities that could bring them together one moment and put them at odds the next.
That may help explain why their interactions sometimes appeared fiery while a genuine friendship was developing underneath.
Lisa did not stand between them
The situation becomes even more interesting because Courtney has been open about the fact that she and Lisa were not especially close.
Despite that, Courtney credited Lisa with never interfering in her friendship with Rosco.
It meant the relationships between the contestants were far more complicated than a simple rivalry between House Three and House Four.
Courtney and Lisa could disagree. Sev and Lisa could have their own tensions. Yet Courtney and Rosco could still remain close friends throughout the experience.
Why viewers saw so little of their friendship
Courtney has admitted she would have liked audiences to see more of the contestants supporting one another.
While The Block naturally focused heavily on competition, judging disputes and disagreements between the houses, much of the quieter cooperation between Courtney and Rosco apparently remained outside the final edit.
That is particularly notable given how strongly Courtney and Sev have performed throughout the season and how much attention their success has attracted from the other teams. Courtney and Sev have become one of the competition’s strongest-performing pairs, recording multiple room wins as the season progressed.
Against that backdrop, a close friendship with one of the contestants living next door offered a very different side to the story.

Reality television can make alliances and rivalries appear relatively straightforward.
Courtney’s revelation suggests life inside The Block was considerably more nuanced.
The contestants could compete fiercely, disagree over scores and become frustrated with one another — while still sharing trades, exchanging advice and building friendships once the immediate pressure subsided.
For Courtney and Rosco, what viewers largely saw as rivalry appears to have existed alongside something much warmer.
