Firefighters are on the scene to contain a grass fire sparked by the crash.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman told NewsWire that 14 crews were called to the airfield after the plane crash-landed and sparked a “large grass fire”.

Crews are working to keep the fire under control and have requested additional air support as the fire tears through dense bushland, which “makes it difficult to access”.
