“They told me that they thought for my own mental well being, given the allegation that started a fire on TikTok, they thought it was better for me, for my own mental health [to leave], because I was struggling at the time in terms of dealing with the allegation and the amount of comments and hate that I was getting from the online space. They thought it was in my best interest for me to be dismissed from the experiment with no visual proof or nothing,” he explained.
Micah had a meeting with the co-executive producers, where they asked for his “version” of the events behind the allegation. And he and Ankita were then removed from the experiment.
“They had no real visual proof in a history of any wrongdoing from myself. And yeah, it felt like a bit of a scapegoat, to be honest,” Micah said. “I was very upset because I come from a Polynesian family and I come from a very female-dominant family. And for me, hearing that I’ve done that is very disrespectful in my culture, but also to the females in my life, that hurt me. And I was a bit taken aback to be honest.”
He said the allegation “spiralled” out of control despite there being no “proof” and he even asked the producers to go to the police so he could “clear his name”. His bride Ankita thinks the allegations were baseless too.
“When they told me it was in my best interest to dismiss me from the show, I said, ‘But you’re practically giving them validation that I’ve done wrong or that you found something visually that can prove that I’ve done this allegation right. Because it’s a serious allegation’. And for me, I just said, ‘I know what I’ve done. I back myself. Please tell this person to go to the police so I can fight it’. Because I’d never want anyone to stay in the shadows,” Micah recalled.
He revealed that when he was told to leave, he got really upset and cried, because it was hard for him to ever think of himself like that. “I cried for probably a couple hours and then I went back to my room and then they obviously told Ankara, and I was just waiting in the room and I was upset for what was going on,” he said.
