Scott unleashes on Gia: ‘She belittled and insulted me’ at homestays

Married At First Sight groom Scott McCristal has unleashed on his TV bride Gia Fleur, declaring he will ‘never’ speak to her again after their disastrous homestay and subsequent split, which has yet to air on TV.

The 33-year-old businessman accused Gia of ‘belittling him and calling him names’ during their time at his home on the Gold Coast.

‘It looks like she deliberately tried to sabotage it,’ Scott claimed.

Scott did not hold back as he described Gia as the most difficult partner he has ever been with.

‘By far the most difficult, hardest to understand, untrustworthy woman I’ve ever met in my entire life,’ he said.

‘I’ve never freaking dealt with such hard cards on the table in my whole life.’

The groom said their relationship spiralled during homestay week, when Gia arrived at his Gold Coast apartment and immediately began criticising everything from the cleanliness to his lifestyle.

‘I don’t want to sit there and be constantly brought down and made to feel like I’m not good enough,’ he said.

‘That’s how it felt. Nothing was ever going to be good enough.’

While viewers saw the couple clash over a pink neck pillow, which Gia questioned as a possible sign of another woman, Scott said the tension ran far deeper.

‘It wasn’t about trying to start a fight,’ he explained.

‘That’s just her personality and her insecurities trying to find an issue because she couldn’t find one.

‘She’ll just find absolutely anything possible.’

Scott said the real breaking point came when he asked Gia a simple question about trust.

‘I said, “Do you trust me 100 per cent?” and she couldn’t even give me a direct answer,’ he said.

‘She tried to turn it around on me.’

The reality star alleged the worst of Gia’s behaviour was not shown on television.

‘You can only imagine what happens off camera,’ he said.

‘She just comes at me, throws me under the bus, calls me fake, belittles me, calls me names.

‘It was every night. No matter what I said or did, I was in trouble.’

Scott also revealed an unaired incident where Gia allegedly refused to attend a planned dinner before ‘going rogue’ at him inside his apartment.

‘It was uncomfortable. She was trying to leave, yelling at me, saying I’d thrown her under the bus,’ he claimed.

Despite the turmoil, Scott admitted he initially kept quiet in a bid to make the relationship work.

‘I was holding back the whole time,’ he said.

‘I thought it was going to get better. I didn’t want to be that guy throwing his partner under the bus.’

But as the pressure mounted, he said he was forced to speak out.

‘It got to the point where I was emotionally checked out,’ he admitted.

‘I just thought, this isn’t going to work.’

Scott said the relationship became increasingly confusing, claiming Gia would alternate between declarations of love and explosive confrontations.

‘She’d tell me she loves me, but then sabotage me the way she does,’ he said.

‘Clearly she didn’t respect me.’

He also claimed he felt restricted in how he interacted with others.

‘I couldn’t even take a photo at the gym without being questioned,’ he said.

‘She’d ask, “Who are you sending that to?” That’s how bad it was.’

Scott suggested the reaction would have been very different if he had behaved the same way.

For Scott, there is no going back.

‘I won’t talk to her ever again,’ he said.

‘Never. I’ve never made contact with that woman again and I never will.’

As the experiment continues to play out on screen, Scott revealed viewers will see his withdrawal intensify.

‘I just become more closed off,’ he said.

‘My energy’s gone. The longer I’m there, the worse it gets. ‘I just feel like s**t.’

The 35-year-old mother went rogue in a lengthy Instagram post last week, claiming Scott could not ‘read, write or spell’.

Gia also boasted about her new boyfriend Alan, and said that once she split up with the Gold Coast-based businessman he ‘ghosted her’ because there were ‘no cameras around’.

The notoriously fiery bride appeared to be responding to a radio interview Scott gave on Triple M’s 92.9 Robbie and Carly Show.

After sarcastically referring to Scott’s radio appearance as ‘cute and sweet’, Gia’s remarks soon took a sharp turn.

‘[The] elephant in the room here…the bigger problem we need to address, which is that you [Scott] don’t know how to spell, read or write.’

She then appeared to claim that Scott had mispronounced the word anonymous and had mistaken the meaning of ‘epiphany’.

‘An epiphany is a moment that comes to you in your brain, in a moment like a light bulb, like ”I’ve got a thought that’s crazy, it’s an epiphany”.

‘So when you use ‘epiphany’ and say ”Gia, and I had a big epiphany last night, and we got through it”- you mean ‘tiff’.’

She also claimed that Scott had misunderstood the phrase ‘set in stone’.

‘You mean “setting the tone”‘ she said.

Elsewhere, Gia slammed Scott for mentioning her eight-year-old daughter, who she had introduced to her TV husband during the experiment.

‘And how about we do radio interviews about getting education back on track instead of worrying about what the f*** my daughter is doing – she’s great,’ she said.

Gia has been approached for comment.
