Pauline Hanson secures major win after her ‘anti woke’ song was removed from iTunes

A song created for Pauline Hanson’s controversial new film A Super Progressive Movie has been reinstated on a major streaming platform after it was briefly removed – despite topping the charts.

The track, titled Kiss Kiss (XX) My Arse, was released on Australia Day and reached No. 1 on the Apple Music iTunes best-selling songs chart, ahead of releases by Keli Holiday and Harry Styles.

The ranking was based on paid downloads rather than streaming numbers.

The song is a reworked version of Holly Valance’s 2002 hit Kiss Kiss and features lyrics taking aim at progressive politics, including references to trans issues, ‘snowflakes’ and ‘cancel culture.’

Valance, a former Neighbours star who is now based in the UK, has in recent years become a vocal supporter of conservative politics and has publicly backed Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party.

Posting on social media, Senator Hanson said: ‘When we phoned Holly Valance to write us a song for the movie, she instantly said yes.’

The track was later removed from the platform after it briefly overtook Olivia Dean’s Triple J Hottest 100-winning song Man I Need, before being reinstated following backlash.

Ironically, the track itself includes lyrics mocking ‘cancel culture.’

Lyrics of the song include: ‘MWAH You will respect my pronouns / Not all ladies have ovaries, some have a penis / They say that I’m a he but I’m a she / Coz I gotta V and not a D.’

‘And I don’t care what people say / I’ll never be a him, a them or they / Cause I’m real biological woman / A real biological woman.’

‘Fave song – from the river to the sea / No job but I bleed LGBT… Q+, ya bigot / Cause I’m a real diabolical lefty.’

‘Wouldn’t the ABC have a heart attack knowing they had to play this track,’ Ms Hanson said when the song was released.

Despite being popular in downloads, it was only streamed about 50,000 times on Spotify and did not appear on Australia’s major streaming charts or break into the country’s official rankings.

The song received plenty of criticism for being transphobic and attacking minority groups.

Despite this, some social media users were quick to ask why they couldn’t access the tune.

‘Who gave Apple the go ahead to tell us what music we could download?’ one Aussie wrote.

‘I’m so buying it,’ another said.

The One Nation leader’s film is about four ‘progressives’ who find themselves in the ‘real-world’ led by Hanson after their ‘rainbow malfunctions’.

The film has a 4.8 rating on renowned website IMDB, and that average figure comes from users mainly rating it either 1/10 or 10/10.

The movie’s release comes amid skyrocketing support for One Nation among Australian voters, tying it with the Coalition for the first time.

Ms Hanson has even talked about the possibility of becoming Prime Minister if her party’s popularity continues to rise.

‘If we get the number one vote, and we get majority of the votes, the majority of lower house seats, yes, we can form government,’ she told Sky News.

‘I think that we’ll probably get government in the states before, eventually, in the federal parliament.

‘But there’s nothing stopping us from being opposition first, then working our way towards government.’

Apple Music was contacted for comment.
