An insider close to the Married At First Sight production team has made some shocking claims about this year’s cast of brides and grooms.
Married At First Sight Australia has made its comeback and as usual was filled with drama, but it turns out the drama isn’t just on-screen.
In the opening seconds of episode one, one bride was seen refusing to marry her groom after meeting him at the altar, while another groom shared his dislike of women who are overweight, saying: “Fat people are a no go”.
Elsewhere a bisexual wife-to-be was left questioning whether she’d be walking down the aisle to a man or a woman, while another groom told his co-stars: “If she’s a woke person I don’t really stand for any of that s**t.”

Despite only just starting, this season has already proved to be one of the most controversial due to an array of alleged behind the scenes drama.
Sources told the Daily Mail that the season has been a “crisis management nightmare” thanks to the many explosive dinner parties, bombshell walkouts, unforeseen alliances and all-round drama that has become synonymous with the show.
Insiders have claimed that relationships between brides and grooms have completely disintegrated, with many blocking each other on social media and some even refusing to be in the same room as each other.
“It’s that bad,” one well-placed source told the Daily Mail on Sunday.
“Most of them have blocked each other. Exes, former friends, even people who were close during filming. Nobody wants to be in the same space.”

“They literally cannot stand each other,” the insider said. “Nine is worried about getting them together at all. If you think the show was explosive, you should see what it’s like now the cameras are off.”
The insider continued: “This cast is next level. Next level loud. Next level toxic. Next level fun to watch – but absolutely impossible to manage. They literally got what they needed from the cast from dinner parties in a record two hours.”
The source close to production also revealed that a bride reportedly went missing for fourteen hours without any notice, sparking a full-scale production emergency.
Not only that, but according to reports, this year’s brides and grooms were required to undergo weekly drug tests throughout the filming period after several of them went rogue during filming.
The new rule has never been implemented before during MAFS production, and it meant that any participant who returned a positive result would be booted off the social experiment immediately.
