Karl Stefanovic reportedly confirmed he wants to leave Channel Nine’s Today after 21 years, during a star appearance at billionaire Anthony Pratt’s A-list party.
Karl Stefanovic has apparently added fuel to rumours he will end his 21-year tenure hosting Channel Nine’s Today show when his contract ends later this year.
The Aussie broadcaster was among star-studded attendees at billionaire Anthony Pratt’s extravagant party over the weekend, where the guest list also included Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Jacinta Allan, and an exclusive performance from Kylie Minogue.
Ahead of the bash on Saturday, Stefanovic, 51, was apparently flown to Melbourne, put up in a lavish suite at the Crown, and acted as MC at the A-list event.
According to an insider, the new podcast host spoke freely to other guests about his desire to leave the Today show, stating he was fed up with the 3am alarms and considering a pivot to radio in the wake of Kyle Sandilands’ sacking.

“I cannot do these hours anymore,” Stefanovic allegedly said, as reported by Woman’s Day.
“And there are so many opportunities in radio due to the obvious recent news.
“A very successful afternoon radio team will be moved to the breakfast time slot. And then, I can slip into an afternoon slot – and sleep in!”
It comes after reports claimed Stefanovic had “informal talks” with ARN Media about joining one of its radio stations.
During the alleged discussions last month, the presenter told ARN CEO Michael Stephenson he “doesn’t know what he’s doing next year”, but has not entered into any negotiations with the company, according to The Australian.
