MasterChef favourites Sarah and Declan shut down split rumours

MasterChef Australia fan favourites Sarah and Declan have reportedly put an end to rumours that they’ve called time on their relationship.

According to an insider speaking to New Idea, Declan has already dismissed speculation that the couple have separated, reportedly telling friends: “Definitely not.”

The source claimed Sarah and Declan have simply chosen to keep their relationship more private, rather than drifting apart.

“Their lives might look separate from the outside, but behind closed doors they are very much together. They are making plans, looking for a home and building their future as a family,” the insider claimed.

“There is no split. They have just realised that not every part of their relationship needs to be performed on social media.”

Sarah and Declan are still a team

Sarah is expected to spend much of her time overseas until October as she continues pursuing career opportunities, but the couple are reportedly still “thick as thieves” while raising their daughters.

The insider said the family has been working around Sarah’s travel schedule, with the girls sometimes travelling with her and at other times staying with Declan.

“They are working it out week by week and doing whatever makes the most sense for the babies,” the source said.

Declan has also reportedly taken on extra parenting responsibilities while Sarah works overseas.

“He and Sarah are operating as a team, even when work temporarily puts them in different countries,” the insider claimed.

The couple are looking for a bigger home

Far from planning separate lives, Sarah and Declan are reportedly searching for a larger home in Melbourne where they can settle down with their family long-term.

“They need more space, and they want somewhere that feels like a proper long-term family base,” the source said.

“Melbourne is home for them. Sarah’s commitments will always take her overseas, particularly to India, but this is where they want to put down roots.”

Sarah’s teenage son, Phoenix, is also reportedly an important part of the family’s decision to remain based in Melbourne.

With Sarah spending extended periods overseas, the couple appear to be focused on finding a balance that works for their growing family.

Could Declan return to reality TV?

While Sarah continues to build her career, Declan has also been keeping busy with brand partnerships, travel collaborations and animal welfare work.

The insider claimed he could even be open to another reality TV appearance, particularly after seeing Alvin Quah represent the MasterChef family on The Traitors Australia.

“Declan thought Alvin Quah did a fantastic job representing the MasterChef family on The Traitors Australia,” the source said.

“If something like that came Declan’s way, he would absolutely consider it.”

The couple have yet to publicly address the latest speculation.
