‘The Miracle’: Joan Continues to Defy Expectations
Joan has been battling stage four ovarian cancer for six years, but according to Mark, she continues to exceed expectations.
He revealed that her oncologist affectionately refers to her as “the miracle” because of the strength and determination she has shown throughout her treatment.
While acknowledging that her cancer remains serious, Mark said his mother continues to fight every day with remarkable courage.
“She’s going OK. Her cancer is not good – but she’s as tough as they come, and she keeps fighting,” he shared.

“We treasure every day with her now and just don’t look too far ahead,” he said.
