An investigation is underway following a serious incident involving an 18-year-old woman in Kew, eastern Melbourne, which is believed to be linked to a separate discovery in regional Victoria.
The teenager was returning home at approximately 1 am on Wednesday when the incident occurred outside her residence on Miller Grove. She was transported to the hospital and, while her condition was initially serious, she is now reported to be stable.
Hours later, police located an 18-year-old man in Antwerp, western Victoria, about 350km away. Authorities have confirmed that the two individuals were known to each other.

Investigation details
Detectives from the Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit were actively searching for the man following the initial report.
“Detectives, who are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding what occurred, are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident,” a Victoria Police spokesman stated.
Police noted that a report will be prepared for the Coroner regarding the discovery in Antwerp.
Superintendent Wayne Cheesman addressed the situation, expressing concern over the event which took place as the young woman was arriving home.
“She gets dropped off at her residence in Kew… and he approaches her in her driveway as she’s about to enter the family home,” he said.
Police have examined the scene, including a vehicle parked in the driveway, as inquiries continue.
