Probationary Constable Jack Hibbert has been spotted in public as he continues his recovery from serious injuries sustained during the Bondi Beach tragedy.
The 22-year-old was present near Archer Park on December 14 when the incident occurred. Constable Hibbert was assisting members of the public to safety when he was critically injured in the line of duty.
Although there were initial concerns about potential permanent damage to his vision, his recovery appears to be progressing well. He was seen walking in Dee Why, northern Sydney, on Tuesday without requiring protective eyewear.
A dedicated fan of the NRL team the Dolphins, Constable Hibbert was previously photographed on Christmas Eve receiving a special jersey after his release from the hospital.
Following his brave actions, NSW Police Legacy initiated a fundraiser with an initial goal of $25,000. In a heartwarming display of generosity, donors have far exceeded expectations, raising over $647,000.

The fundraiser highlighted that the officer had only been serving for a short time before demonstrating exceptional leadership.
“Jack is just 22 years old and has served as a NSW Police Force officer for only four months. Despite this, he responded with courage and selflessness, continuing to assist others even after sustaining injuries,” the statement read.
His family expressed their deep gratitude to the police force, hospital staff, and the wider community for their kindness during this challenging period. The funds raised will assist Jack in navigating the road ahead.
Thousands of donors have reached out to thank Constable Hibbert for his bravery during the crisis.
“You are a very brave young man. Wishing you a speedy recovery,” one wrote.
“Get well soon and thank you for your service,” another added.
“I hope this assists you with your medical treatment. You deserve so much more for your outstanding courage and integrity,” another supporter commented.

An additional $119,000 was raised through a separate crowdfunding campaign organized by friends of the Hibbert family.
“Colleagues reported that even after sustaining injuries, Jack continued doing whatever he could to protect the people around him for as long as he was able,” the family shared in a statement.
“You could hear the pride and respect in their voices as they recounted the events to our family.
“Listening to their words, it is clear that Jack conducted himself as a hero, demonstrating courage and dedication to serving others.”
