Future of MAFS Australia confirmed as fans beg for it to end following ‘disgusting scenes’

MAFS Australia will be returning to our screens yet again despite the extremely explosive season – as auditions are now open.

Series 13 may have just kicked off in the UK, but it has been going on for quite a while back in Australia. And judging by the spoilers out there, plenty more explosive scenes are to come.

Some fans have taken to social media and Reddit to express how the show shouldn’t get another series after the dramatic scenes. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case!

MAFS Australia fans hit out at series

Over the last few weeks there has been quite a lot of extreme scenes that have left viewers absolutely appalled.

Next week, UK viewers will finally get to see the most-explosive dinner party ever, that had Brook and Gia verbally attacking other brides. Both have since posted apology statements for their behaviour.

But the shocking scenes even left MAFS Australia expert, Mel Schilling – who is standing down from the show due to her cancer diagnosis – telling Brook that she “had never” seen something more “vicious” in all her years on the show.

After the episodes aired in Australia, fans called for the show to finally come to an end, as many found it horrible viewing, not entertainment.

One penned on a Reddit thread: “This isn’t even enjoyable to watch. It’s straight up wrong and uncomfortable.”

Another added: “This sort of behaviour shouldn’t be allowed to happen on a show. It’s just disgusting. Not watching it again.”

A third even mentioned that the cast themselves are now being harassed on the outside world, and so perhaps the show shouldn’t come back again.

They penned: “I wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up being the last season of MAFS. The cast are now being harassed. And some of them are going rogue.”

“The dinner party is the most vile episode of MAFS I’ve ever seen,” to which another responded: “I have seen some terrible things on this show over the years but WOW. My jaw dropped at least 10 times. I cannot believe what I just watched or how it’s allowed to continue.”

Will there be another MAFS series?

However, despite all the negativity and scandals surrounding this series, the MAFS doors are opening once again.

Channel 9 confirmed that Married At First Sight Australia will be returning in 2027. And applications are already open.

The release read: “Married At First Sight is back in 2027. And is currently on the search for participants of all ages and backgrounds who are genuinely committed to finding love.”

It explained that the filming for the 2027 series will take place between July to November of this year.

There is no prize for going the distance, but the show believes you could “walk away with the most valuable prize of all”.

So, despite the negative reaction to season 13, the experiment will be returning once again, next year.
