MAFS Reunion spoiler: Inside *that* cheating scandal between Danny and Stephanie
A cheating scandal has been teased for the Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 Reunion, with an insider telling UNews that it involves Danny Hewitt and intruder bride Stephanie Marshall.
Spoiler warning: There’s MAFS spoilers galore below, so stop reading now if you don’t want to know what happens at Final Vows and the Reunion.
A source tells us that Stephanie sent Danny an “exuberant” amount of text messages after she found out that he dumped Bec at Final Vows, adding that Stephanie was also consoling Bec about Danny at the same time.
“It all went down immediately after Final Vows, and Stephanie was supporting Bec, saying he’s a loser, you don’t need him, you deserve better, all while talking to him constantly. There was an exuberant amount of text messages. She’s ringing him. She’s sending him selfies of herself. It wasn’t right,” the source claimed.
“Stephanie hadn’t had much to do with Danny before; she literally had one conversation with him at a Dinner Party, so it didn’t make sense that all of a sudden they were in constant contact, if there was no ulterior motive.”
The source added that they believed the romantic intent came from Stephanie’s end, and that Danny wasn’t interested in pursuing a relationship with her.
“It really seemed like Stephanie wanted Danny, she was the one pushing it. If Danny had shown any interest at all, they likely would’ve taken it further.”
However, another source has downplayed Danny and Stephanie’s DMs, saying that they were just friendly chit-chat.
“There was nothing to it really; Danny just sent Stephanie a couple of friendly texts after Final Vows. I would not call it flirty by any means. It’s been completely blown out of proportion for the sake of making drama for the show,” they said.
The source added that the news of Danny and Stephanie’s texts started circulating when “two women from the cast used it as a chance to create a huge s**t storm.”
The insider stressed that there will be “no new couples at the Reunion.”
Danny skipped the Commitment Ceremony because of the cheating scandal
After getting absolutely grilled at the Dinner Party over his DMs to Steph, Danny decided to skip out of the Commitment Ceremony, which meant Bec had to have her couch session with the experts solo.
“Bec was devastated by his choice not to attend the Commitment Ceremony; it was a huge slap in the face to her,” the insider dished.
“Again, instead of being there for her, he shied away and walked away from his responsibilities, and she was left to pick up the pieces alone. It felt like he didn’t take any of the relationship seriously.”
The source added that they believed Danny was scared of what the experts would say to him.
“He knew that the experts were going to grill him and he didn’t want to face that.”
Stephanie denies that she was interested in Danny
After the news of Stephanie and Danny’s DM situation leaked, she went on Ella Ding’s podcast and denied that she was interested in Danny romantically.
“We had a voice message, and he asked me how Hamilton Island was, and so, you know, had a bit of a back and forth conversation,” Stephanie explained.
“There was no intention, not attracted to the guy, and if, and you would see that if they had shown our rating challenge… And then he hated on me, because he was like, you’ve done this for extra airtime.”
