Several tour dates across the 68-year-old’s ‘Fall Of Crawl’ tour have been postponed.

“By way of explanation as to why we’ve moved some of the Fall Of Crawl shows; I’ve had a Basal Cell Carcinoma diagnosed on the skin under my left eye, a consequence of a lifetime in the sun,” Reyne wrote.

“It needs to be surgically removed and involves a recovery period of a couple of weeks, so it’s meant that we’ve had to re-schedule a few of the gigs.”

The artist apologised for any inconvenience caused to his fans but said he had been advised to undergo the procedure.

Reyne also assured his followers “we’ll be back, meatier, beatier, bigger, brighter and bouncier than ever before”.

“To that end, bring back the Slip, Slop, Slap ads and get yourself checked!,” he wrote.

The list of rescheduled shows included tour dates in Penrith and Enmore in Sydney later this month, which were postponed to April.

Shows in Adelaide and Victoria’s Bellarine that had been planned for March will also now be in April.

Reyne’s upcoming tour – which was set to kick off at Brunswick Heads in NSW on Friday – included tour dates across Australia and New Zealand.

The cancer announcement sparked an outpouring of support for Reyne from his social media followers, with many wishing him a “speedy recovery”.
