Robert Irwin has been confirmed as the host of the 2026 TV Week Logie Awards, becoming the youngest person in the event’s more than 60-year history to score the coveted gig.

The 22-year-old is taking over from comedian and TV presenter Sam Pang, who hosted the glitzy event for three years.

The wildlife warrior said it was “one of the most exciting things” he’s ever been asked to do.

“Throughout my life, my goal has been to spread an important message not only through our work at Australia Zoo, but also on the screen,” he told TV Week.

“I grew up watching the Logies with my family, so this is certainly an honour.

“Australian television has given so much to so many people. To be part of the biggest night in Aussie TV is something I don’t take lightly. I cannot wait.”

There has been a lot of speculation about who would take over Sam Pang’s job, and Robert’s name has popped up every now and then.

He was even the subject of an April Fool’s Day article earlier this year, suggesting he had been confirmed as the host.

But now it’s been officially confirmed.

TV WEEK’s Editorial Director Amber Giles said Robert was a no-brainer to host the annual event as he’s the “hottest name” on the small screen at the moment.

He’s already been hugely popular as the co-host on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here, but his stardom reached new heights late last year when he won the American version of Dancing With The Stars.

Robert’s been grabbing global headlines ever since and is even hosting a spin-off of the US program that will premiere on Hulu next month.

He’s also set to appear on MasterChef this week as a special guest judge.

“To have him home hosting Australian TV’s biggest night is extremely exciting,” she added.

“We can’t wait to see what he brings to the stage in August.”

Rober is no stranger to the Logies either, after being nominated in 2024 for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter and the Gold Logie Award.

The Logies will be held at on August 16 at The Star in Sydney.
