The Brisbane Lions player has been tipped to leave the club after the end of the season.
Lions ace Lachie Neale has been tipped to make a sensational move to Collingwood next year if he leaves Brisbane with the former co-captain tossing up his next AFL deal. Neale is without a contract in 2027 and is tipped to make a move back to Perth where he would be closer to his kids.
Neale stepped down as Lions co-captain after a tumultuous off-season in his personal life. Jules and the kids have moved back to Perth, where she’s originally from before they relocated to Brisbane when Lachie signed with the Lions.

Back in March, leading reporter Jon Ralph revealed Neale’s preference would be to stay at the Lions if he can make the juggling act with his kids work.
However, a new destination has been thrown out there. Speaking on SEN Radio on Monday, reporter Tom Morris tipped Neale would make the move to Victoria as the star still has premiership ambitions.
Morris mentioned Collingwood as a club who would benefit from Neale’s experience and he could work in tandem alongside Nick Daicos. Although he also tipped the Adelaide Crows as another club who could be keen on the midfielder. Surprisingly, Morris claimed Fremantle ‘don’t need’ Neale and might not feel obliged to bring him in considering they are currently in first place.
“It’s very hard for me to say when he hasn’t even made his mind up yet. I think Collingwood,” Morris said on Monday morning. “From a family perspective (going back to Perth make sense), but he wants to play in a premiership.
“I think Collingwood offers more of a chance of that than West Coast for example, and Freo don’t necessarily need him. Adelaide are a chance, absolutely.”

Lachie Neale could remain in Brisbane
Morris’ prediction comes as Ralph reported Neale is keen to remain in Brisbane where he has spent the majority of his footy career. Ralph revealed in March on Fox Footy: “The accepted wisdom is that he will play out the season, he’ll jump on a plane, and he’ll be playing for a WA-based club next season. I can tell you tonight that Neale’s preferred outcome is very much playing at this football club (Brisbane) next season.
“It will require a supreme juggling act, it will require him to, of course, see his kids across this season – that’s going to be challenging – but Brisbane and Neale are very much trying to make it work until the end of the season. So, he’ll spend time with his daughter across the next couple of weeks, he’ll spend the Round 2 bye in Perth, there’s a nine-day break after Gather Round – so, there are possibilities there.”
