Samantha Armytage Breaks Down in Tears Over Devastating Family Tragedy – The Heartbreaking Loss No One Saw Coming

The Nine TV star has taken to social media to share some devastating family news with her fans.

Samantha Armytage’s grandmother Dorothy has passed away at 100 years old.

The Golden Bachelor host took to social media on Tuesday to share the devastating family news with her fans, penning a heartfelt tribute to “Nanny Flannery” accompanied by a collection of family photographs.

“Last week we laid our beautiful Nanny Flannery to rest. She was 100 & she was just pure magic,” the 49-year-old Nine star shared on Instagram.

Calling her late grandmother “universally adored”, she added: “And in return, she was adoring. A grandmother’s love is like no other.”

“She loved colour ~ esp yellow ~ & fittingly, the autumn day she passed, the light shone through the glorious Ginkgo [sic] tree in my garden.”

Armytage went on to say that her grandmother was now “shining” with the TV star’s mother and their dog Banjo.

“How lucky am I to have 3 Guardian Angels,” she penned, adding: “She deserves a good rest.. but Lordy, we shall miss her.”

Signing off the post, she wrote: “Dorothy Flannery, 1925 ~2026.”

Alongside the moving caption was a series of throwback snaps, selfies and special moments with her grandmother, as well as text messages she had received from friends in the wake of Nanny Flannery’s death.

Fans and friends flooded the comments section of the social media post with love and support for the TV star.

“Sorry to hear Sam. Sending you lots of love xxx,” Bachelor star Anna Heinrich wrote.

Fellow Nine presenter Belinda Russell penned: “Such beautiful tributes for your Nanny Flannery. What a wonderful woman she must have been. Sending big hugs to you and your family.”

“How incredible, 100 years old .Sorry for your loss x,” former MAFs star Jules Robinson chimed in.

The sad news comes six years after Armytage’s mum Elizabeth ‘Libby’ Armytage passed away from heart failure at the age of 68.
