Suspected dragracers charged after man drowns at Audley Weir
Two drivers who police allege were street racing have been charged after one of the cars plunged into a river, killing a passenger.
Two men alleged to have been street racing before one of the cars plunged into a river killing a passenger have been charged.
Police allege the men were behind the wheels of high-powered sports cars which investigators believe may have been drag racing down Audley Road in the Royal National Park in Sydneyâs south at 1.15am Wednesday.

It is understood the Audi, allegedly driven by a 20-year-old man âleft the roadway, entered the water and sankâ at the Audley Weir crossing.
While the driver was able to escape from the  vehicle, his passenger â 20-year-old Casula-based university student Muhammad Kashif â was unable to free himself. A frantic search was launched, with Mr Kashifâs body located about 10.20am.
The driver of the Audi has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death.

An 18-year-old man alleged to have been driving a Mercedes has also been charged with driving with a suspended license, not complying with high-performance vehicle restrictions, holding a phone while driving, driving without displaying P-plates and possessing a prohibited substance.
Both men have been granted conditional bail and will appear at Sutherland Local Court on June 18.
Friends on Wednesday paid tribute to Mr Kashif, who was described by his local Mount Pritchard â Southern Districts Cricket Club as being full of âcharismaâ and âbanterâ.

âOur heart is breaking today, as we share the sudden and tragic passing of our friend and teammate Muhammad Kashif,â the club wrote in a Facebook post.
âKash, we will miss your charisma, your banter and most of all your friendship. Simply gone too soon, rest in peace dear friend, never to be forgotten.â
Speaking to Ben Fordham on 2GB on Thursday morning, NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon said drag racing was âdefinitely part of the investigationâ.
