Jasmine Stefanovic throws sausage sandwich at PM as Australia left stunned

Karl Stefanovic has revealed his wife Jasmine’s violent reaction to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s fuel crisis response.

Karl Stefanovic has shared his wife Jasmine’s furious reaction to Anthony Albanese’s national address.

The Today show host said both he and his wife were left less than impressed by the Prime Minister urging Australians to conserve fuel and “do their bit” amid rising fuel prices caused by the conflict in the Middle East.

In a clip teasing the latest instalment of his podcast, The Karl Stefanovic Show, the broadcaster said Mr Albanese’s address had left the couple “mad as hell”.

“I was away on holidays and starting to feel good, maybe the excise will bring the price of fuel down, everything’s going to be okay,” Stefanovic said.

“Then Albo did his national address and my wife threw a sausage sandwich at the TV.

“Albo has gone overseas to get all this extra fuel – he hasn’t done a deal with anyone.

“I just got madder and madder and now I’m mad as hell.”

Mr Albanese’s address to the nation was widely criticised by everyday Australians who accused him of fuelling anxiety instead of easing it.

He made no new policy announcements to help Australians struggling and instead encouraged commuters to use public transport where ever possible.

The Prime Minister held talks in Singapore last Friday with counterpart Lawrence Wong, in which they vowed closer cooperation to ensure energy security ‌in the face of disruptions caused by the Middle East conflict.

On Wednesday evening, following Stefanovic’s rant, it was announced Australia had signed a deal with Brunei that will get more fertiliser to farmers.

It comes after Nine insiders revealed Stefanovic’s podcast has caused “a fiasco” amongst his colleagues after network bosses allowed him special privileges.

Sources have revealed staff have been left less than impressed with bosses allowing Stefanovic to diversify into the podcast world alongside his breakfast host job.

One of the biggest points of contention amongst his colleagues has been the free reign the podcast host has over promotional ads relating to his new venture.

“No one at Nine can do ads without management approval and the network ‘clipping the ticket’ and taking a cut … except Karl, who once again can do whatever he likes,” one Nine staffer told The Australian’s Media Diary.

“Seriously, what the f**k are (Nine director) Michael Healy and (national news boss) Fiona Dear doing? What a fiasco.”

Nine is neither approving or profiting from Stefanovic’s ad deals, according to reports.
