Scott McCristal and Gia Fleur took the chance to reconcile their differences during Monday’s dinner party on Married At First Sight – and the results were explosive.
The 33-year-old businessman could barely contain his emotions as his notoriously fiery bride read out a ‘love note’ in front of the entire group.
But Scott refused to accept his wife’s pleas for forgiveness and fired back with a four-page letter detailing his grievances, which left Gia in shock.
Scott entered the last dinner party of the season still smarting over Gia’s decision to flee the experiment and return to her home in Melbourne just days ahead of Final Vows.
Scott, deeply hurt by the 35-year-old’s flirty behaviour during the Grass is Greener test, debriefed in front of the group during pre-drinks.
‘I can’t be with anyone who lies to me,’ he said tearfully, only to see Gia make her unexpected entrance at the party moments later.

‘I don’t know what Gia’s intentions are tonight, but I’m not going to fall for it anymore,’ he said.
There was a further twist just before the group sat down for their meal, as Bec Zacharia revealed to Gia that the groom had found out that his bride had stayed in Sydney and had not returned to Melbourne after all.
Gia then complained to Bec that she didn’t want to ‘do’ the dinner party. The pair then retreated to the bathroom to discuss how Gia could win back Scott and save face in front of the group.
‘You know what you need to do? Out-victim him,’ Bec told Gia.
She continued, adding that they had Gia’s image to protect, ‘I’m looking at this like strategically. It’s not just about life. It’s about Australia.’
Some members of the experiment tucked into their meals enthusiastically as Gia started to read her note.
‘Dear Scott, this hurts in a way I didn’t think it could,’ she began.
Gia continued, ‘When I entered this experiment, I was incredibly hard-shelled, but over time, you softened me, and I thank you for bringing that side back out of me.

‘I put my life on the line to enter this experiment, and I was blown away by how fast-paced our connection was and how you made me feel seen, heard, and protected.
‘Before I knew it, this single mum was introducing a new partner to her beautiful daughter.
‘People don’t understand how terrifying that is, and I was really scared.’
Stating she fell in love with Scott ‘deeply’, Gia then confessed, ‘Scott… I came back tonight to not leave and to show you that I’m here to bare my soul, not for the cameras, but for you.’
Scott wasted no time on his comeback, telling Gia he ‘appreciated’ her effort and then dropped his bombshell.
‘I know more than you think. I’ve caught you lying to me a lot. And you know what?… I planned something I didn’t tell anyone,’ he said, pulling out a letter, and telling the group, ‘this hurts’.
After confessing, he came into the experiment with ‘high hopes’, Scott declared how important it was to find someone who was honest and shared the same morals.
Admitting that he had ‘cared deeply’ for his match, Scott said that his bride had ‘belittled’ him during the experiment, even though he had shown loyalty and respect.

‘I don’t know what Gia’s intentions are tonight, but I’m not going to fall for it anymore,’ he said
‘At this point, enough has been done and said to let me and everyone else know exactly who Gia is and what she stands for.
‘Morally, we aren’t aligned. We hold different values of what a relationship should be. I can’t be with a woman who, behind my back, proclaims to the first guy who looks her way, I only date men with money and who will pay for everything.
‘…You told me you had flown home to Melbourne in tears, inconsolable, but I came to find out that you were still in Sydney drinking at a bar.
‘I’m not sure what it is that you’re looking for, Gia, but I can tell you’re not the one for me. We are a different calibre of people.’
Scott then threw his ring on the table and fled from the room, kicking over his chair in the process.
Gia was having none of it, declaring to the group that her match was a showmance.
‘He played me…He never reassures me. He never tells me I look beautiful before a dinner party. He never tells me I’m sexy,’ she said.
Moments later, Gia also left the dinner party and the experiment, encountering an emotional Scott outside the set, where they shared a final tearful goodbye.
