Jackie O to testify against Kyle in $100M lawsuit as ARN’s “secret weapon”

Jackie “O” Henderson is set to be called by ARN as its star witness in the legal battle with Kyle Sandilands, who sources claim is in store for a “great deal of pain” while his former co-host is being “looked after” by the network.

An insider has revealed Jackie “O” Henderson could face her former radio co-host Kyle Sandilands in court as a star witness for ARN Media.

Sandilands launched legal action against ARN after his $100 million contract was terminated following an on-air bust-up with co-host Henderson in February.

The first hearing of Sandilands’ legal showdown was held in the Federal Court last week and an insider has since revealed that ARN plans to call Henderson as its key witness.

Sources have told Media Diary that Henderson has a list detailing several occasions when Sandilands allegedly bullied her, going far beyond the clash which triggered the cancellation of the Kyle and Jackie O Show.

“Kyle’s in for a great deal of pain if he pushes ahead… Jackie has already tipped a real bucket on him behind the scenes to management,” one ARN insider said.

“Jackie’s letter outlined numerous instances of unconscionable behaviour towards her (by Sandilands) besides what happened on that fateful day. Her complaints go well beyond those final on-air comments.

“It’s also worth noting that Jackie is not taking any legal action (against ARN) – and that’s because she is being looked after.”

Henderson’s contract with ARN was also terminated following the on-air spat, after she told the network she could no longer work with Sandilands.

However, ARN offered Henderson the possibility of an alternative show on its network, according to the announcement confirming her departure from the airwaves and Sandilands’ suspension due to “serious misconduct”.

Sandilands fronted court for the first time on Friday, telling media after the hearing he just wants to get “back to work”.

“I just want to get back to work or get back earning. I’ve got a family, I’ve got mortgages to pay like everyone else,” he told reporters.

Asked about the legal dispute, Sandilands said he was happy with the case his team had put forward in court.

“We are happy that what we’re putting forward is going to be well received,” he said.

“I told the judge today, or they (my lawyers) told him – we’re happy to go back on Monday.”

During the case management hearing before Justice Angus Stewart, Sandilands’ barrister, Scott Robertson SC, argued for his client’s case to be expedited and said the radio host was happy to “get back on air as soon as possible”.

ARN’s barrister Tom Blackburn SC said his client did not accept Sandilands’ reasoning for the case to be fast-tracked.

A further case management hearing has been listed for April 24.
