Truth behind Alissa and David’s split and axed Channel Nine shows

In just two weeks, everything seemed to fall apart. The couple considered the strongest in the MAFS 2026 experiment, Alissa Fay and David Momoh, left viewers with huge question marks over the future of their relationship. Thought to be the pair that would “go the distance,” things have instead taken a sharp turn.

So what really happened? And why did Channel Nine’s shows “cut out” most of the crucial footage involving them? The answer comes from a shocking truth, involving an “intimate incident” that never aired and the conspiracy behind the messages attacking Alissa.

WHAT HAPPENED TO ALISSA AND DAVID IN THE PAST TWO WEEKS?

The couple entered the marriage experiment with a controversial start (Alissa once demanded David get down on one knee to propose right at the altar). However, they were later seen as a solid anchor in a turbulent season. Yet in the past two weeks, cracks have begun to appear in this relationship.

The intimate incident that never aired

One of the most significant reasons explaining this shift is an incident during an intimate moment between them, and more importantly: it was cut from the broadcast.

According to a Daily Mail revelation, there was an “unfortunate” incident in Alissa and David’s intimate life. This matter was mentioned on the couch in front of the experts at a Commitment Ceremony, but it was completely omitted from the broadcast.

After this incident, things began to change. The once-easy relationship became strained. The closeness that had been their strength diminished significantly. Rifts began to appear and grew wider.

Alissa herself acknowledged: “There’s a lot missing, there’s a lot of story missing. We’re dealing with other issues in the relationship… things that haven’t been shown.”

This suggests that what viewers saw on screen was only a small part of the story. The deepest parts were kept hidden.

Not just a couple’s issue: A deliberate “campaign”

Beyond the private incident, Alissa and David were also targets of organized attacks from other couples, culminating in the group message scandal.

The Daily Mail revealed the contents of a WhatsApp group chat among the brides, where they planned to “attack” Alissa. In a message, Bec Zacharia declared she would “go off at Alissa and her fake relationship.” Another bride responded: “Go off girl, we approve and we have your back.”

It didn’t stop there; the brides used vulgar language targeting Alissa and David. Most notably, one shocking message called them “wannabe influencers, c**t-licking Christian” – a phrase Channel Nine had to completely blur out when broadcasting.

The truth about this group chat was revealed after screenshots were leaked, and lawyers became involved. Alissa said she was shocked to discover it had all been pre-planned: “It’s disgusting. To know it was pre-planned, it’s actually disgusting.”

Bec later issued an apology for her behavior. However, that couldn’t erase the fact that Alissa and David had been subjected to a targeted campaign of attacks from the start.

WHY DID CHANNEL NINE’S SHOWS “CUT OUT” ALL OF THIS?

There’s a clear reason: this content was too sensitive and toxic for primetime broadcast.

First was the sensitive incident in Alissa and David’s private life. This was a personal matter, and airing it could have deeply hurt them both. Furthermore, having such an incident discussed in front of experts and millions of viewers was something Channel Nine likely recognized as crossing a line.

Second, and the main reason for the editing, was the group chat scandal with its vulgar language, especially the phrase involving religion.

Television critic James Weir of the Daily Telegraph pointed out that this was the first time in MAFS history that Channel Nine had to blur a word that wasn’t typical profanity. That word was “Christian.” Along with numerous blurred expletives, censoring this word showed the severity of the issue.

“Finally! A line Channel 9 won’t cross,” Weir remarked. “It’s genuinely refreshing to know there’s still something that makes these producers stop.”

Clearly, the religiously charged attacks and extreme vulgarity were something Channel Nine couldn’t tolerate airing during primetime. They chose to cut it to protect viewers and avoid further legal repercussions.

THE AFTERMATH AND WHAT REMAINS UNRESOLVED

The fallout from these events has been immense. Alissa revealed that both she and David wanted to quit multiple times. “There were a few times David and I wanted to walk away. This isn’t for us,” she shared.

Though there hasn’t been a massive blow-up on the couch, the tensions remain. The rifts, as Alissa admitted, may be irreparable: “They’re really painful. And you can’t really come back from something like that.”

The story of Alissa and David in MAFS 2026 will remain a mystery until the very end. But one thing is certain: the full picture viewers see is only a small piece. What truly fractured their relationship, the vulgar and organized attacks, and the network’s censorship decisions, have created a behind-the-scenes story far more dramatic and complex than what made it to air.

As Alissa said: “There’s so much context missing… you haven’t seen how bad it got.” And perhaps, viewers will never see the full truth.
