A Married At First Sight bride has reportedly lost her job and is allegedly struggling to find work after receiving major backlash for verbally attacking her fellow participants at one of the show’s dinner parties.
Married At First Sight’s Bec Zacharia has been fired from her job over her behaviour on the show, according to an insider.
The controversial bride, 35, was working in sales at a manufacturing company in Adelaide when bosses said they “couldn’t have her there” after the third dinner party aired on Channel Nine.
An insider told Woman’s Day that Bec was only a couple of weeks into the role when she was called in for a meeting with company executives.
“The show had just started [airing] and they basically sat her down and told her that they thought it’d be best for her to come back after MAFS had finished,” the source told the publication.
Bec reportedly refused to take time off from her job, citing “rent and mortgages” that she needed to pay, which led to the company agreeing to keep her on board, so long as she didn’t do any publicity for the show.
However, a few weeks later, the infamous third MAFS dinner party aired, which showed Bec verbally attacking multiple contestants on the show.
“Everything changed after that,” the insider claims, adding that bosses told her “they couldn’t have her there”.
“They didn’t want her to work there any longer and it was due to what was happening on MAFS and her behaviour,” they went on.
According to the publication Bec was shocked by the decision, particularly because she had warned them prior to the episode airing about what was to come.
Bec is now allegedly struggling to find another role due to her polarising edit on the show.
Last month, Bec got candid about her actions during the controversial dinner party, claiming she was “gaslit”.
“I wanted to take down Gia so I could prove Danny’s innocence and so he would trust me. Instead, I took down my friends and acted appalling,” she shared on The Fox’s Fifi, Fev and Nick.
Prior to the dinner party, Gia sensationally claimed that Danny had made a questionable comment off-camera, saying that she was his “type”.
When Bec became visibly upset by the statement, her husband accused her of not being a “ride or die” because she believed Gia’s remarks.
According to Bec, this is what fuelled her outbursts during the explosive dinner party.
“What we need to remember is that I was in a position where I feel like I was gaslit. I was trying to prove I was ride or die,” she confessed.
The reality star went on to reveal that, in that moment, she knew she was losing her “marbles” and spiralling.
“It was really difficult to watch… Mortifying,” she confessed.
