EXCLUSIVE: MAFS’ Chris has been keeping secret that he’s expecting two kids after his new husband Sam awkwardly admitted he wasn’t ready for children in the near future.
After more than a week of “waiting for the right time”, Chris was compelled to tell Sam before his audition tape would reveal the news for him. Watch the moment above.
Chris said he was “shitting himself” for Sam to find out he was expecting one child via surrogate and another as a donor because he knew it would be make or break for the relationship.
“My dealbreakers are someone who has commitment issues or someone who doesn’t want children,” Chris told nine.com.au.
Chris’ seven-year relationship ended when he realised his ex never wanted children, he was hoping his relationship with Sam wouldn’t have the same fate.
Then came the words Chris had been hoping to hear from Sam: “It’s not going to affect me wanting to date with you or be with you.”
“I’m very open to having kids, I love kids, I’d love to raise some of my own someday,” Sam previously told nine.com.au.
Chris’ journey to fatherhood
In February 2025, Chris confirmed that he was officially a dad after welcoming a beautiful baby girl with his friends, a lesbian couple.
He is still awaiting the arrival of his child via surrogate in Colombia in the coming months.
“I decided three years ago I would embark on a surrogacy journey and have a child on my own as a single dad,” Chris told 9Entertainment.
“I love children, I love my nieces and nephews. I feel like there was a part of me that was missing and that was being a father so I went ahead and did it.”
Chris said the overseas surrogacy process had been “a bit of a journey”, explaining “it was long and there were lots of hoops to jump through”.
