Fans are worried about the 7NEWS favourite
Jane Bunn has found herself at the centre of growing concern after stepping out with a noticeably slimmer appearance, prompting fans to question what may be behind her recent transformation.
The 47-year-old 7NEWS Melbourne meteorologist attended the St Kilda Best and Fairest Awards on Monday night, wearing a purple top and black skirt as she showed off her much slimmer figure.
After Jane shared photos from the event, hundreds of comments quickly followed.
While many fans praised her appearance, others expressed concern about just how much weight she appeared to have lost.
One person urged Jane to be careful about losing too much weight, while another simply asked: “Jane, what have you done?”
Someone else even questioned whether her weight-loss secret was “the big O” — a reference to Ozempic.
There is, however, no evidence that Jane is using Ozempic, and she has never said that she is. The speculation appears to have come entirely from social-media commenters.

Jane has finally explained what changed
Rather than leaving the growing speculation unanswered, Jane has now spoken openly about the transformation.
And her explanation is considerably different from what some fans have been assuming.
Jane said she has spent the past few months prioritising her health, and that the changes have left her feeling more energetic and positive.
“For the past few months I’ve really been prioritising my health,” she told the Herald Sun. “That shift has brought so much energy and joy into my life.”
She also pushed back against the idea that she is unhappy or unwell, saying she feels “terrific, happy and healthy” and describing herself as strong, balanced and genuinely happy.
Those comments offer an important piece of context amid the growing attention surrounding her appearance.
The unexpected moment that started it all
Jane has previously revealed that her transformation began after Seven News Melbourne moved into a new studio.
The change meant presenters would increasingly appear in full-length shots on screen, something that made Jane look at herself differently.
The meteorologist, who grew up as a dancer, admitted she realised she did not feel as fit as she once had.
That was the moment she decided to seek expert advice and make some changes.
Jane explained that she began paying closer attention to when she was actually full, rather than automatically finishing everything in front of her.
Her approach, she said, has been about moderation, including eating less and drinking less, rather than giving up the foods or social occasions she enjoys.

It was not simply about looking slimmer
One of the most revealing parts of Jane’s explanation is that she has framed the change as a health decision rather than a quest to become thinner.
She has spoken about wanting to feel healthier and stronger, particularly after realising she was not as fit as she had been earlier in life.
She also told the Herald Sun that she still loves food, wine and going out for dinner.
The difference is that she has learned to pay more attention to her body’s signals and stop eating once she is satisfied.
That philosophy is consistent with what she has previously said about exercise.
In an earlier interview, Jane described herself as being “addicted” to her trainer and said her routine included barre, Pilates and high-intensity interval training before work.
A very different Jane is emerging on screen
The transformation has not gone unnoticed.
Jane’s appearance at the 2026 Brownlow Medal had already attracted widespread attention, with fans praising her dramatically different look.
Now, her latest appearance has reignited that conversation.
But Jane appears less interested in the fascination with her body than some of the people watching.
She has said she is surprised by how interested people are in her appearance, while repeatedly returning to the same message: she feels good, she feels stronger and she is happier.
The woman behind the weather map
Jane has been one of the familiar faces of 7NEWS Melbourne for more than a decade.
Seven describes her as a qualified meteorologist from Melbourne, and she has built a particularly loyal following through her approachable style and regular interaction with viewers.
Away from the cameras, Jane is married to IT consultant Michael, who has largely stayed out of the spotlight. He has nevertheless publicly described her as “the most wonderful lady in the world”, while supporting her through the latest chapter of her life.
For someone who grew up dancing and has spent years on television, the decision to place greater emphasis on her physical and mental wellbeing appears to have become an important personal reset.
The speculation is likely to continue
Jane’s appearance may continue to attract attention, particularly as viewers compare recent photos with images from previous years.
But one thing is clear: the Ozempic rumours remain rumours.
Jane has publicly attributed her transformation to prioritising her health, seeking professional advice, exercising and changing how she approaches food and alcohol. She has not said she uses Ozempic or another weight-loss medication.
And despite the concern circulating online, Jane’s own message is surprisingly reassuring.
She says she feels strong, balanced and genuinely happy.
For a television presenter whose job is to tell Australians what conditions are coming next, perhaps the most unexpected part of Jane Bunn’s latest chapter is that this time, the story isn’t about the weather at all. It’s about a woman who says she finally decided to put her own health first.
